Weikersheimer’s Party Shield

I’ve heard about this technique, but this photo is the first time I’ve seen it in action.  Patricia Weikersheimer created her “Party Shield”by drawing a doodle using Tulip brand puffy fabric paint, then pulling a silicone mold from the doodle.  The mold was used to impress copper clay from Hadar Jacobson to create the finished [...]

Doyle-Sims’ Celtic Dreaming Tree

Joni Doyle-Sims’ “Celtic Dreaming Tree Pendant” is a lovely example of melding metal clay with glass enamels with head-turning results.  The symbology of using the leaf shape to represent the colorful canopy of the tree really works for me.  The celtic patterns imprinted on the trunk and branches add further layers of meaning to the [...]

Messam’s Lava Beads

I spend lots of time looking at photos of metal clay art and jewelry.  I’m blown away every day by the talent that oozes through this metal clay community.  So, you can imagine my surprise when I came across this photo of something so completely different.  Lesley Messam has painted lava beads with silver clay [...]

Berman’s Brunswick Bracelet

Created for the Master’s Registry program, Maggie Berman’s ”Brunswick Bracelet” just makes me swoon.  What struck me first was how she captured the look and feel of the neighborhood that inspired the piece.  On closer inspection, the attention to detail and layers of surprises embedded in the piece had me awe-struck.  Maggie blogged about the piece [...]

Daisy Jane’s Window Gazing

This “Window Gazing Pendant” from Daisy Jane Designs is a virtual world tour of techniques, including layered elements, textures, syringe, hinges, a bezel set stone and a fabulous rainbow patina.  I think this lovely landscape is particularly nice in its composition and balance, which just seems to draw me in.  The window frame adds an [...]

Hemmila’s Krishna Peacock

Beth Hemmila of Hint Jewelry creates lovely little charms, each about the size of a dime, and each with a sense of symbolism that helps to tell a story.  She even puts these charms together in combinations requested by her customers to tell their special story.  Although it’s hard to choose a favorite, I was [...]

Fago’s Red Ibis

I just love it when I find new work posted by established artists.  It’s so fascinating to watch the incremental progression that’s inevitable in every artist’s work.  This “Red Ibis Pendant” was added to Celie Fago’s Etsy store just yesterday and I could already hear it calling to me this morning.  Celie is a master [...]

Angulo’s Copper Roses

These tiny hand-formed roses from Lorena Angulo are so sweet.  Framed by the wood-grain plank of COPPRclay, these little lovelies remind me of the flowers growing next to my Uncle’s weathered barn.  I particularly appreciate that the arrangement of the roses on the two earrings is complementary but not identical.  Lorena’s art reflects her Mexican heritage and her [...]
