Teresa Swanson of TZTUDIO caught my eye today with this his and hers set of cross pendants. I really appreciate how she transformed this familiar symbol into masculine and feminine versions without being too obvious about it. The pieces appear to be roughly the same size and shape, so Teresa didn’t rely on scale to meet her goal. Instead, she worked with different bail construction, the addition of the stone in the female version, and the use of negative space in the male version. These subtle differences are so effective in creating a pair of pieces that clearly work together, without being matchy-matchy.
