Baille’s Life’s A Hoot Pendant

Baillie_10_09Ruth Baille of Birdland Creations has been busy at her workbench creating loads of  whimsical hand-sculpted metal clay pieces such as this “Life’s A Hoot” pendant.  I so admire the courage of artists to hand sculpt in this medium.  The fear of screwing up and wasting the precious (expensive) clay tends to hold me back.  So, my hat’s off to Ruth and her extensive collection of birds, birdhouses, sheep, buildings and other tiny sculptures, which are overflowing with a playful, fun spirit and not a hint of fear!

Ruth is also very industrious with her internet presence.  For more of her work, check out her Web siteblog, Etsy store, DaWanda store, Artfire store, Facebook fan page and Flickr photostream.  It all leaves me asking myself, “when does this gal ever sleep?”
