Sonis’ Walk Like An Egyptian Series

Jascha Sonis is doing amazing things with her “Walk Like An Egyptian” series, which uses simple shapes and textures, but puts them together in complex and  surprising ways.  Jascha uses the tearaway technique, which is so wonderful for creating detailed, shallow textures.  Most of the pieces, such as this one, feature a splash of Keum Boo gold, which adds a lovely luster to each creation.    I can just picture Cleopatra draped in these rich designs.
